Muhammad Muwakil is an artist in every sense of the word. Very often we find ourselves relying on traditional meaning, so that we can navigate our lives through titles and categories; Muhammad does no such thing.

More popularly known as the founding member of Freetown Collective (@wearefreetown), Muwakil in fact is a being of many creative expressions and histories. He is an artist in the way that he feels, interprets and speaks — for that is how his work reaches us. Be it words, sound or even drawing; creating is at the very fibre of Muhammed’s making.

Not only has Freetown Collective touched the minds of their inhabitance, Trinidad and Tobago, but they’ve also actualised the fact that music knows no bounds, even in the place is known to be a Soca-Centric island.
